This is a turn around assignment with the buckid rig and a box rig. We couldn't move the camera or add anything to the scene. And we had to have the box get buckid attention and have Buckid turn around at least 180 degrees to look at the box rig.

3D walk cycle
So, finally, one of my 3D animations. Walk cycle, done with the buckid rig. I really like this rig, it's easy to learn with him. I'l show more animations with him. I'll probably make one more for practice, and then move on to something more challenging!

Run and Walk Cycles
Here are my run and walk cycles for my 2D class. We had to use the character Norman, I forgot who designed him though....

Final Renders
So these are the final renders I am submitting. I did all of my rendering on Saturday, to realize it was the wrong resolution and that I wanted to add stuff to the room anyway. I go to re render and all of the lighting changed. Gah! All day I was doing this yesterday. I'll be working on this room some more over my winter break, but, yeah, here they are!!

Redos
I redid my bird and giraffe. I'm about to have a panic attack about my other projects. My 2D is not turning out well at all and I think I have to redo the whole thing (almost 240 drawing) because everything I do just makes it worse. But I only have to days. So, yeah, panic attack. Maya is so much better than traditional animation!!! :(

More progress
I'm getting there. There are lighting issues (not enough shadows), and I think it's all washed out. I don't know, just the objects aren't clear enough. We can't render in mental ray, we have to use the maya software, so it's not going to look as pretty as I want it to. But I'm still proud of it!! Also need a window light, and am trying to figure that out... :/

Marie Antoinette progress
I started texturing the room (Marie Antoinette's bedroom). This is due in 1.5 weeks, along with two other final projects, one of which I haven't started yet. I don't know what I'm going to do. :( I lost one model somewhere, from all of the e-mailing the files to myself/flash drive transferring, etc... Luckily it was an easy one, so I have to redo that. AND I forgo that I wanted to model a couch as well.... I still have to texture everything too, and I don't for the life of me understand UV texturing stuff!! Kind of in a panic mode, But, here's what I've done so far.

Marie Antoinette
For my final Modelling project, I have to design a space for someone (a non-animated character) who is fictional historical, real, etc.... It can be any space (bedroom, living room, some is creating a ship deck and someone else is creating a caves), anything. The objects in the space must represent this person. I decided to model Marie Antoinette's bedroom at the start of the revolution, right after she escaped through the door in her room. I'll be posting my progress as the weeks go by. So far, I've only modeled objects. No textures, or even the actual space, yet. But soon.... Because this is due in a month......
Silver cookie Tier (also modeled chocolate and macaroons to go on it) Professor loved this one! :b

Sadie
My second to last project in my 2D principles class is to create a model sheet for a character. I created Sadie (my fiance names her :D). I'll redo it, I'm not happy with it, but I'm posting it as a first draft....and my first character model sheet! We have to animate the character we create as the final project, so I wanted her to be as simple as possible, and so does the professor....

My first Maya Models
It's Midterms, and I'm actually not that stressed out. I do have to memorize the 12 principles of animation for tomorrow, verbatim, which I'm not happy about. I've been reading them over since the first day of classes knowing that this is going to be the midterm and nothing has stuck! Instead of letting us paraphrase, he is going to take points off if you miss a word or miss a comma or something. Am I studying performing arts or animation?? I think this is a ridiculous waste of time, and I should be doing REAL animation work, but I have to do this today instead. And on top of that, these principles are paraphrased everywhere in every animation book, everywhere online, everywhere! They're principles not scientific rules, so verbatim just means he wants us to memorize his version of them. It's silly. I'll just forget them after the test anyway. :/
I'm sorry for the rant. Anyway, because it's midterms, all of my Maya models were due this morning. They're below. Everyone had to create the same models based on these awful Bosch paintings. The only reason they were awful was that the proportions aren't accurate on the paintings (and Maya's all about precision). So we had to guess half of the stuff on them. But I learned basic modeling techniques, so I'm excited about that!!

Bouncing Ball Tests
Here are my bouncing tennis ball (top) and bowling ball (bottom) tests. I think they turned out pretty well. I made several versions of this, and this is a redo that I handed in for class. This was the first assignment. I was really nervous handing this in, but all in all, I think I got the basic animation principles down in this. Let me know what you think!! And thank you for looking!! :)

Flag Wave
This is my second traditional animation from my first quarter in grad school at SCAD, for my 2D principles of animation class. I'm taking it with Troy Gustafson (who's awesome by the way, and a former Disney animator, who worked on...drumroll....The Lion King!!)The first animations were a bouncing tennis ball and bowling ball (two separate animations). I will post those later. This flag is a redo, of a redo, of a redo (insert several more redos). Not perfect. Not bad. Definitely the most difficult animation I've done so far, traditional or computer. And from what I've heard from other students, and professors, the most difficult to master. I still need to practice and work on this, but I got an A-, so I have to say, not too shabby. :D That's why I'm posting this as my first animation post, so that they better ones will come later. ;) I mean, a bouncing ball is not that hard.... :)
